Who are Papa & DeeDee?

So how did we come up with the name for our business? We are Sami & Amy but are affectionately known as Papa & DeeDee to our two gorgeous grandchildren. 

Papa & DeeDee is a reflection of our harmonious connection with one another, our family and friends and the inspiration we draw from our natural surroundings. 

Life flows effortlessly, dancing to its own rhythm, unperturbed by our comings and goings. 

Surrounded by incredible beauty, whether in the landscapes around us or the 

amazing people we interact with everyday, we surrender to this flow of life, 

allowing the beauty of what we love be what we do. 

Our designs, inspired by everything from sunset colours and storm clouds, to our Chubby Love coaster, cast from a humble peperomia leaf, join in this seamless, ongoing dance of life.

Sami's journey with concrete began early, learning the craft within the family business. With decades of experience, he honed his skills, working as a carpenter in his 20's and then co-founding Pop Concrete with his younger brother Jouni in 2009. Their innovative designs and dedication to pushing the boundaries, significantly influenced the Architectural concrete scene in Australia for many years. 

Now as a grandfather Sami channels his vast expertise into crafting smaller more intimate designs.

Amy may be relatively new to the world of concrete, but her penchant for good design coupled with  her love and affinity for nature, and everyone she comes into contact with is evident in the warmth and beauty in her designs. 

Amy’s love for life flows through her and guides her creative abilities as she shares with the world her passion for creating concrete art that resonates with the beauty around us.
